As team captain on behalf of Team “Streamwork Makes The Dream Work”, I am humbly writing to you in the hope that I can ask for your support for our 2024 Extra Life Campaign.
Extra Life is a charity organization that unites thousands of gamers around the world to play games in support of their local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. This will be the seventh year that I am volunteering to raise funds for BC Children’s Hospital.
This cause is very dear to me as it has become a great way for me to combine my passion for gaming, and my desire to help others, especially children’s needs into such an important cause. I have friends who have worked for, and know individuals who have received care from BC Children’s Hospital, and I want to do my part in being able to provide support and encouragement for the staff, patients, and their families that make up the hospital’s tireless community.
My gaming roots started with my family, an NES, and the first Mario Bros. + Dunk Hunt combo. Evolving from that I get my first Pokemon Yellow, discover my Dad's copy of Final Fantasy 1 for the NES years later, and now streaming constantly, collecting cards and video games sharing my love for it all live~! But with that, every year I pull my friends together to raise funds for such a vital cause. My hope is that you help continue this tradition and we'll see you on the Streamwork stream!
No contribution is too big or small, as all are done with bigger hearts.

Hey everyone, thanks for dropping by.
I've been gaming since I could remember as a child, Need For Speed: High Stakes before I really knew what I was doing, and watching my dad play Medal of Honor and Counter-Strike: Source back when shooter games made me nervous and scared. Eventually I'd get so enveloped with the lore of games like Pokemon, Team Fortress 2, and Mass Effect, while tending to my affinity for racing games, such as Gran Turismo and Need For Speed.
Eventually I found myself watching the rise of e-sports, and took up playing Counter Strike: Global Offensive, as well as Rocket League, as a result. These are the main games that take up my spare time now.
My aim for Extra Life is to have an awesome time, throw it back to the days where you'd just laze around on the couch playing games with friends, grinding through games, and I invite you all to come support our cause and have as much fun interacting with us.
Every year, I become more invested in the mission of support of children's hospitals, seeing members of my communities and family who really rely on BC Children's Hospital to keep their families in good health. This year is for those families.
I invite you to peruse the links below, especially the fundraising link on Facebook where you can easily leave a donation, if you feel inclined. Any dollar is a valid and thoughtful contribution.
Thank you so much, GLHF.

Wutsup guys! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit this page! I would love to take up a bit more of your time and really explain what we are doing and why we are doing it!
I can honestly say I have been playing video games since I was about 4 or 5. Started pretty young with some classic Nintendo and Sega consoles. I remember Super Mario World and Yoshi’s Island as a couple of my favourite games back then. As the years went on and I got older, my taste for games evolved and grew with me. I started playing more competitive games like Halo and Call of Duty. I played so much that at one point I dream of becoming a professional gamer.
That’s what this is all about. Giving these kids a chance to dream of a future where they can be whatever they want. Whether that be an Astronaut, Athlete, or even a pro gamer. I've spent my fair share of time in the children’s hospital back when I was young and I only ever remembered the fun parts of it. I was lucky though. The hospitals were funded enough to provide me with entertainment while the doctors took care of me. We hope to keep that up. To raise money in hopes of providing a fun and safe space for kids to get better.
I plan on doing everything I can each year to help our team achieve the goals we've set in support of the children's hospitals. Helping them provide the community a place for the kids and their families to get better.
We hope you will join us in our mission! Please, take a look at the links provided and if you feel like helping out, we would appreciate any donations large or small. Every penny counts and it all goes toward the kids!
Thank you so much.
Lukas

It was a day that I was at daycare, about 4 years old, and I was watching the older kids play Sonic 2 on Sega Genesis. I became absolutely entranced watching that blue blur whiz around the colourful screen. From that moment on, I knew video games would become a large part of my life and also my identity.
I've been playing games for as long as I can remember- some of the most noteworthy moments being those shared with my friends, but even more so those shared with my Dad: discovering some hilarious new game each week via a shareware disk, running out of my room to get him to defeat a scary boss in a DOS-based wizard game called Hocus Pocus, or making fun of the hokey dialogue, bad models, and dubious gameplay tasks- but also kicking butt- in a very obscure PC action-adventure game called Outcast.
Nowadays, I am mostly a fan of more indie games like Transistor, FTL, A Hat in Time, or Celeste; but I have also retained a huge fondness for retro games that I played during my childhood. Super Mario World, Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, Tetris, and The Sims were some big, defining games for me growing up. That transitioned into series like Portal, Bioshock, Zelda, and Smash Bros as I grew up and I started to explore the vast world of games!
My reason I've joined the wonderful Streamwork team this year is simple- I want every child to have the opportunity to make fond memories with their parents (or friends!), and if I can have an impact on making sure that can happen through my fundraising with Extra Life, then I will have achieved my goal! I was also very influenced by the charity stream that the Vinesauce team puts together every year to participate in my own charity stream!
Even if you can't donate, don't feel bad! Even just a share to a friend or tuning in to the stream for a bit helps us! Game on!
